Education
A life threatening illness affects the body, the mind, the spirit, the social well-being, the family and the care team. Hospice education strives to improve skills, knowledge and attitudes in all these areas.
St Clare Hospice provides a number of educational activities designed to meet the needs of our colleagues in the NHS, Nursing Homes, Community Teams and acute care settings. In addition to hospice-based education, staff can provide courses and study days at the care providers' own premises.
Among our recent educational events are the Palliative Medicine updates, Nursing Home training and Carers' Scheme training.
The hospice is committed to our continuing links with university, nursing and medical training programmes and hospice staff contribute to local and national conferences.
In addition to providing professional courses and study days
for all disciplines, we also lease our facilities for use
by outside agencies and organisations.
