Gift Aid your three piece suite to St Clare
The concept of Gift Aid isn’t new, regular supporters of St Clare Hospice will know that the charity can claim an additional 28% from the government if donors who are taxpayers sign a Gift Aid declaration, but did you know that St Clare can claim Gift Aid on donated goods that are sold through our shops?
If you donate goods to our shops and you pay tax all you have to do is download and complete this simple form and take it with you next time you take goods into one of our shops and our shop team will do the rest.
It doesn’t matter if your donation is a three piece suite, a bag of clothes, a box of books or a dinner service so long as you are a tax payer you can sign a declaration. Once we have your declaration on file you will receive your own donor ID card so you don’t have to repeat the process every time you donate.
A paperback book sold for £1.00 will raise an additional 28p if it has been Gift Aided, a sofa sold for £100, if Gift Aided will raise a further £28 at no extra cost to the donor or the customer.
Imagine the difference all those 28ps could make. If just 20% of St Clare donors are able to participate the Hospice could potentially raise an additional sum in excess of £30,000 each year. This could cover the running costs of a St Clare inpatient room for 10 weeks. During that time as many as 10 patients and their families would benefit from the high standard of care and comfort St Clare prides itself on providing its patients.
If you would like more information about what we can and cannot sell in our shops please download our retail leaflet or call your local St Clare shop.
